Travis McMaster is married 15 years and a father of 2 (Lucas 12 and Ella 8).  His father was an Elite Marathoner in the 70’s and 80’s and he recalls traveling to races in Florida (Tampa Bay Classic) among others, hanging out till he finished.  He hope his kids will remember the travels they have with him as he race around the country.   Most recently, Travis McMaster raced Pro Mtb for Mafia Racing for the 2008-09 season, gaining exposure on the Felt Bicycles website and catalog, cyclingnews.com, and Velo News.  In 2010, McMaster started a National Cyclocross team, Pioneer Racing, focusing on U23 racers from Syracuse, NY to Laguna Beach, CA.  Pioneer Racing gained exposure on Cyclingdirt.com, Velonews.com, Cyclingnews.com and cxmagazine.com.   Name: Travis McMaster Nicknames: Tmac, “T”, Pooh Bear, Chops and Lil’ Fella. DOB: 7/5/ 1973- Yeah, his mom was in a bar on the 4th of July drinking beers watching the Cubs game. PreRace: Breakfast: 2 waffles with crunchy peanut butter and jelly, oatmeal and fresh coffee using my Aero press (given to me by a friend, BWD). Worst Bad Habit:  McMaster has done several Xterra and Single Speed races in a Pooh Bear costume, including Xterra Nationals.   Yeah, Pooh.  "Kinda lets me off the hook….if I win, people are like wow you crushed AND you wore a costume?!  If I come in last, people are like “wow you wore that costume the whole race?!”  Nobody likes to get beat by Pooh.  I think of it as my way of motivating people to dig deep!"
